TRS chief meets NDA leaders seeking support on Telangana bill

New Delhi, Februaary 22: TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao today met leaders of NDA, including BJP’s Sushma Swaraj, and sought their support for an adjournment motion he plans to move in Parliament tomorrow demanding a discussion on Telangana statehood issue.

Besides meeting Swaraj, Rao held talks with NDA convenor Sharad Yadav of JD (U) and other alliance leaders and sought their support for exerting pressure on the Centre to introduce a bill in current session of Parliament for formation of Telagana.

Rao told reporters that he met Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar who promised him that she will allow him to raise the Telangana issue during the Zero Hour.

“But I told her that I want a proper discussion on the subject,” he said.

“We want the Congress-led UPA to spell out its stand on the Telangana issue,” he said.
