Hyderabad, December 26: TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao today criticised the heavy deployment of security forces in Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh ahead of the Sri Krishna committee submitting its report on the statehood issue by the end of this month.
“Why should heavy deployment of forces be made? Is it to suppress the Telangana agitation? We are a political battalion. Can the security battalions stop the political battalion? Why Congress MLAs and MPs are silent when heavy deployment is made”? he told a meeting here.
In the event of the Centre not accepting the Telangana demand after the Sri Krishna committee submitted its report, a spirited agitation would be launched for realising the goal, he said.
Chandrasekhar Rao reiterated that he is ready to undertake a fast again for achieving Telangana.
Speaking on the occasion, Congress MP Sarve Satyanarayana said Chandrasekhar Rao should merge his party with Congress once the Centre accepts the Telangana demand.
