TRS is BJP’s ally and KCR is Modi’s agent: Uttam

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and his party TRS have exposed their friendship with BJP by abstaining from voting on the No Confidence Motion in Lok Sabha on Friday.

Addressing a press conference, along with MLA A. Revanth Reddy and other leaders, at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that KCR has once again proved his loyalty towards the BJP and Prime Minister Narender Modi by abstaining from the voting. He said that the Congress party has been speaking about a secret pact between the BJP and TRS. By not voting against Modi Government, TRS has exposed itself and made the secret public, he said.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that KCR has been a Modi supporter since beginning. “KCR was the first chief minister to support demonitisation and GST. TRS voted for BJP’s candidates in the elections for President and Vice-President of India. He preferred BJP candidates with RSS background over Babu Jagjivan Ram’s daughter and Dalit icon Meira Kumar and Mahatma Gandhi’s grandson Gopalakrishna Devdas Gandhi,” he said while appealing the Muslims to realise KCR’s pro-BJP and pro-RSS policy.

The TPCC Chief asked as to why TRS MPs did not raise the issue of 12% Muslim reservation in the Parliament. He said Muslims should be cautious from the dubious policies of KCR and TRS Government and restrain from trusting his misleading statements. He said TRS stand during ‘No Confidence Motion’ has also exposed MIM which is an ally of TRS. While KCR supports BJP and PM Modi, MIM supports KCR and TRS. Therefore, voting for TRS or MIM will be equal to voting for BJP, he said. Congress president Rahul Gandhi, during his last visit to Telangana, had rightly described KCR as ‘Chota Modi’, he said.

He also said that Christian community and those hailing from Seemandhra and living in Hyderabad must understand the true colours of KCR and TRS.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the TDP had moved the No Confidence Motion over non-implementation of promises made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. However, the TRS MPs’ participation on the debate was only symbolic and informal. TRS MPs did not expose the injustices being done by the BJP’s Central Government. He said none of the promises made in the Telangana Bill were fulfilled. But TRS MPs have failed to raise issues pertaining to Bayyaram Steel Plant, Tribal University, Railway Coach Factory and other failed assurances of the Centre. Further, he said that the TRS MPs have remained mute when PM Modi strongly criticised the very formation of Telangana itself. However, he said that the Prime Minister has endorsed that it was the Congress party which granted statehood for Telangana and KCR had played no role in its formation.

The TPCC Chief alleged that KCR has sacrificed the interest of Telangana to maintain his friendship with BJP. He reminded that when PM Modi visited Telangana to launch Mission Bhagiratha, KCR said he only wanted Modi’s love and nothing else and the Prime Minister did exactly the same. He maintained friendship with KCR and gave nothing for Telangana.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said TRS MPs have raised the issue of merger of seven mandals of Khammam with Andhra Pradesh immediately after bifurcation after a silence of four years. He said loss of seven mandals to AP was the first major loss Telangana has suffered within days after TRS came to power. However, he said that the TRS MPs never raised the issue in the Parliament and spoke about it during ‘No Confidence Motion’ only to mislead the people.

Praising Rahul Gandhi for his speech during the No Confidence Motion, he said that the Congress president has completely exposed the failures of Modi Government during the last four years. He also praised the gesture shown by Rahul Gandhi of hugging the Prime Minister despite the fact that Modi and his team have been running a hate campaign against him. It was first of kind moment in the history of Parliament and Rahul Gandhi has shown that all political leaders should be broad-minded to the extent that they must also love their opponents. (NSS)
