Hyderabad, May 28: Congress MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy was taken into preventive custody while on his way to a controversial rally in Warangal. A defiant Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Friday blamed the Telangana Rashtra Samithi for the death of one person during protests over his Odarpu Yatra in Mahabubabad.
Announcing that he would go ahead with the ‘consolation’ tour at a later date, Mr Reddy said that TRS activists had created a situation of ‘terror’.
He said that it was the TRS which had politicised a personal visit by him to console the families of those people who had committed suicide or died of shock following the death of his father, former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy on September 2, 2009.
The Kadapa MP questioned who would have been responsible if the agitating mob, which had pelted stones at the Mahabubabad railway station’s waiting room, had managed to harm the Congress leaders there.
