TRS announces Bhikshapati’s candidature from Parkal

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Wednesday announced that Moluguri Bhikshapati will be its candidate from Parkal assembly constituency where by-elections will be held on June 12.

Talking to reporters at Telangana Bhavan, TRS polit-bureau member Nayani Narsimha Reddy said that Bhikshapati’s candidature was decided with consensus and hoped that he would be supported by the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee, Employees JAC and the people, in general. TRS floor leader Etala Rajender too hoped that Bhikshapati would win the election with a huge majority.

While thanking TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao for giving him the ticket, Bhikshapati said he would make all efforts to win the elections. He appealed to the people to teach the candidates of Seemandhra parties a lesson in the by-elections.

It may be mentioned that Bhikshapati, as a TRS candidate and representing Grand Alliance, had lost to the then Congress candidate Konda Surekha by nearly 13,000 votes in 2009 general elections. While Konda Surekha secured 69,135 votes, Bhiskhapati got 56,335 votes. The BJP was able to secure just 3,497 votes.

While Konda Surekha is contesting from Parkal as YSR Congress candidate, Bhikshapati would also have to compete against the Congress, TDP and BJP candidates in the by-polls.
