Hyderabad, August 26: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Legislative Party leader E Rajendar seems to be in a state of confusion over grant of SC status and providing reservation to Dalit Christians.
The Assembly today passed a resolution, which was introduced by Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, urging the Central Government to amend the Constitution providing reservation to Dalit Christians in the country. All political parties, except the BJP and LSP, supported the resolution.
After hearing LSP leader Jayaprakash Narayan in the House, Rajender started rethinking on their party’s decision. In an informal chat with Congress members outside the House, Rajender admitted that they supported the resolution without going into the details of the matter. “We simply followed the main Opposition TDP’s decission without going into details,’’ He was told by the Congress leaders that the matter was over and he could do nothing now. The Congress legislators even thanked Rajendar for supporting the resolution.
