The Telangana Rashtra Samithi activists led by Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao on Sunday stopped the lorries belonging to Seemandhra region on Rajiv Rahadari at Rangadhampalli in Siddipet.
The lorries were done in protest against Tadepalligudem MLA Alla Nani obstructing 21 lorries from Telangana region and imposition of heavy penalty by the RTO officials. Demanding unconditional release of lorries belonged to Telangana region, Harish Rao accused the Seemandhra leaders of resorting to “cheap gimmicks”.
Warning the Seemandhra leaders of dire consequences, Harish Rao said that the Telangana leaders would not allow lorries of Seemandhra leaders to move in 10 districts of the region if they did not release the Telangana lorries unconditionally. He also dismissed the claims of Alla Nani that roads in Seemandhra region were badly damaged due to plying of lorries belonging to Telangana region. He demanded that the police to book case against Alla Nani for stopping lorries illegally. He said that the lorries were carrying granite for Andhra region.
Karimnagar MLA Kamalakar and Parakala MLA Bhikshapathi Goud also participated in the protest.With this, the traffic on Rajiv Rahadari came to a standstill and the police had a tough time to restore it.
According to reports the RTA officials seized 21 lorries for carrying granite from Karimnagar to Kakinada Port on wrong route and for violating the rules and regulations. (INN)
