Hyderabad: The time of test for KCR has come. KCR had announced that he is seeking support of the Muslims to counter the attempts of BJP which is trying to pass Triple Talaq bill in the Parliament.
Now that Triple Talaq Bill has been presented in the Parliament, it remains to be seen what would be the stand of TRS in the Parliament.
It may be mentioned that earlier, TRS MPs remained silent in the Parliament when Triple Talaq Bill was being discussed. Before Assembly elections, TRS claimed that it has always protected the interests of the Muslims although it had supported all the important decisions taken by Central Govt.
In Hyderabad, Jamat-e-Islami had openly supported TRS for Assembly elections. This organization had also assured that KCR has accepted the agenda presented to him by it. The agenda contained the issue of non-intervention in Triple Talaq Bill. Now the time has come to test the intentions of TRS and also the status of Muslim parties.
It remains to be seen whether TRS MPs will oppose Triple Talaq Bill in the Parliament or support BJP by remaining absent.
Mr. KCR accepted all the demands of the Muslims before Assembly elections in order to muster support for his party. Within a week of assuming charge as CM for the second time, the time of test has come. Muslims are eyeing on the stand of KCR. The parties which supported KCR and took pride for it should also make their stand clear.
