Hyderabad: Mualana Asrarul Haq Qasimi, MP of Kishan Gunj (Bihar) and member of Muslim Personal Law Board while addressing a gathering of Urdu Journalists in Bidar told that the issue raised by Central Govt., is politically motivated. He was commenting on the efforts of imposing Uniform Civil Code by Central Government. He further said that the affidavit filed by Govt. of India is based on two issues: one if about the issues pertaining to Shariat act of 1935 which cannot be meddled with; the other is about Articles 25 and 29 which guarantee religious freedom. Govt. of India filed this affidavit to end this freedom. Muslim Personal Law Board opposed this move. He further told that Muslim believe that their personal laws cannot be changed as they are based on Quran and Hadith. No one has any right to change them. Muslims should be hopeful that they would get justice from Supreme Court.
