New Delhi: Shahi Imam Maulana Syed Ahmed Bukhari described the passage of triple talaq bill in Lok Sabha in unnecessary haste as BJP’s election stunt. In a statement issued here, Maulana rejected the argument of BJP that it is taking the step to safeguard the rights of Muslim women and asked the government which of its policies or moves is related to the welfare of Muslims?
Shahi Imam also lashed out at Muslim Personal Law Board saying it failed in fulfilling its responsibility in connection with triple talaq. He said from the beginning itself the Board should have taken along with it all the masalik to form a consensus on the issue.
