New Delhi: All India United Democratic Front President and MP, Maulana Badruddin Ajmal told that Triple Talaq Act is to defame the Muslims. It is not to the advantage of Muslim women. It will increase the worries of the Muslim women.
Quoting the Quranic Injunctions, Mr. Ajmal said that in Islam, divorce has been treated as an unpleasant act.
If a Muslim pronounces Triple Talaq, he commits a sin. It should be prevented. Islam is not with the people who pronounce Triple Talaq.
If a person pronounces Triple Talaq, it is a religious issue but government is treating it as a crime and proposes to punish him under criminal law.
Giving the instances of Triple Talaq, Mr. Ajmal said that only 0.5% Muslims resort to it. He further told that out of 68% divorce cases, only 23% are Muslims.
Maulana Ajmal also told that crores of women opposed Triple Talaq Bill since it is full of contradictions. It is against the spirit of Articles 26 and 29 of the constitution of India. Maulana Ajmal advised the Muslim community to know the Islam injunctions and determine to eradicate evil practices so that no one should get an opportunity to interfere into their personal law.
