Tribal woman delivers baby in forest, while being shifted to hospital in ‘machaan’

Hyderabad: As the ambulance could not reach in time, a tribal woman gave birth in the forest itself while being shifted to the hospital. Bindu, a tribal woman, of Yerrampadu village, Cherla mandal in Bhadradri, Kottagudem started feeling labour pains. Ambulance was called to shift the pregnant woman to a hospital located at a distance of 20 kms. However the ambulance could not reach the area as it was surrounded by thick forest.

Panicky over the situation, the helpless brother and father decided to shift her to hospital on wooden ‘machan’ (scaffold). While being taken to the hospital on the ‘machan’, the women gave birth to a baby boy in the thick forest itself. Later after walking upto 3 kms they got the ambulance. Then the woman and the newborn were shifted to a government hospital.
