Jeddah: The decades old sins of forged documents haunting many paramedic Indian expatriates including Hyderabadis in gulf countries. Though most of them have returned home much before punitive measures.
There were some cases still surfacing where forgery cases being detected by concern authorities especially in Saudi Arabia, where number of Indians working in health sector.
In a latest case, A Hyderbadi, whose name withheld, finally returned home after long battle in Saudi Arabia over forgery charges.
A 50-year old paramedic, hailing from Begumpeat in the city was working in a leading hospital in resort city of Taif in Saudi Arabia for nearly two decades.
After working 18 years, it was found that his certificate issued from Hyderabad was fake and not genuine. During routine verification of certificates of health professionals and paramedics, forgery was uncovered by a specialized agency.
Subsequently, his job was terminated, and later Iqama had expired. Thus, how he and his family become all illegal residents in Kingdom for no fault of theirs.
The family concerned as children were desperate to travel Hyderabad to join schools and colleges for their higher studies as academic year inching to closer in Telangana,
The children would lose an academic year if they failed to reach India before academic year.
Unable to travel home, family has sought help of Indian consulate and noted Malayali social worker Mohammed Salih.
After long efforts, Hyderabadi NRI successfully proved that he is in possession of genuine certificate and not forged one. He was able to obtain a duplicate copy which was duly attested by authorities in both countries. He also told that recruitment agent at that time of interview suspected to play foul game.
Authorities discharged him from forgery and allowed him to travel accordingly, first his family returned home and later their head followed and returned Hyderabad recently.
There are several Indian paramedics mainly from Kerala and Telangana were facing probe and some of them spending their time behind bars for submitting forged documents to boost employment prospects while recruitment process in India.
