Hyderabad: The warning given by the Police Officials that those who obstruct the transportation of big animals will be dealt with seriously seems to be ineffective. In certain cases Police Officials are also involved in helping the miscreants. Yesterday, a person transporting goats and oxen was targeted at Champapet in Saidabad. Three big animals were snatched. It is reported that Mr. Mohammed Abdus Saleem along with his son Mr. Mohammed Abdul kaleem was transporting goats and three oxen from Malepally in Nalgonda District in a trolley. Before reaching Hyderabad, search was made at five check posts. Police Officials advised him to change his route at Champapet. He entered Saidabad from Saroor Nagar. A group of 50 miscreants stopped the trolley of Mr. Saleem and assaulted him. His three oxen were snatched.
On receiving the information of this attack, former Corporator of GHMC, Mr. Amjadullah Khan Khalid approached Saidabad Police Station and demanded stern action against the miscreants. Mr. Nageshwar Rao, Addl. Inspector of Police received the complaint of Mr. Saleem. Investigations are in progress.
It may be noted that police is claiming that no certificate from Veterinary Doctor is required for the transportation of Oxen and they have also warned the miscreants that stern action would be taken if they stop transportation of big animals. Despite this warning, the miscreants are taking law into their hands which is a matter of great concern.
