The Telangana Motor Transport Operators’ first day Chakka Jam strike was total on Monday with the lorries and trucks were off the road.
It may be mentioned here that the Telangana Motor Transport Operators were observing two-day bandh following a call given by All India Motor Transport Congress protesting against the GST and corruption.
On the occasion, the Telangana Motor Transport Operators Association vice-president Vimal C Gupta, general secretary MD Imran Khan alleged that the GST was destroying the road and transport sector in the nation. They demanded that the Centre respond on it and initiate action against GST and corruption. They said the Association extended full support to the demonetisation, eradication of corruption, online transactions and GST; but the government has not yet announced clear policy towards Motor Transport sector in related to GST.
