The Additional Commissioner of Transport, Srinivas has made it clear that raids were being carried out on the private bus operators, to correct the loopholes in the travel agencies.
He said that they were conducting searches and would take stern action against the operators who were committing irregularities. On the second day, they booked 91 cases against errant travel agencies. He said that they have seized 36 buses, of which 15 buses belong to Kaleswari Travels.
He informed that they would conduct scrutiny of the seized records from the travels and file cases against the travel agencies if irregularities took place. He informed that they would file charge-sheet in the Court against the travel management concerned, if huge irregularities took place. The Court would punish the travel agencies on basis of case.
The Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has directed the transport officials to check the fitness of the school buses across the state. He asked the officials to take steps to see that the school buses drivers should have driving licenses. He directed the officials to take precautionary steps to stop road accidents. (NSS)
