Hyderabad, September 26: The South Central Railway has resumed its services across Telangana region on Sunday evening.
Soon after the announcement made by the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Prof M Kodandaram that the ‘Rail Roko’ agitation would not be extended, the SCR released the schedule of trains to be operated under its jurisdiction.
Several major trains started departing for their destinations from Secunderabad and Hyderabad Railway Stations from Sunday evening. Similarly, the MMTS and other local services too were restored. Huge crowd was seen at the reservation counters at all railway stations.
The South Central Railway has suffered huge losses due to the two-day Rail Roko agitation by pro-Telangana parties. Apprehending violence and damage to railway property, the SCR itself had cancelled all its services in the region for two days. However, the services were restored immediately after the end of ‘Rail Roko’ deadline.
