Hyderabad, July 31: May or B Karthika Reddy said Indira Mahila Shikshana Bhavans and education-cum-counselling centres will be established in all GHMC wards for the benefit of the members of women’s self-help groups.
She participated in the valedictory of a two-week training programme for resource persons of SHG federations at Harihara Kala Bhavan here today.
The GHMC had picked up some active members from the existing SHGs in Mahboobnagar, Medak, Warangal and Rangareddy districts and trained them. These trained members will in turn train women folk in Malkajgiri, Kapra, Serlingampalli, GHMC Circles XI and XII. The Mayor appealed to the women folk to participate in various training programmes for their empowerment.
She also released a CD on the concept of slumlevel federations and the role of community resource persons. GHMC zonal commissioner Siva Parvathi, Secunderabad zonal commissioner Swarnalatha, deputy commissioner Gangadhar Reddy were among those present.
