Train services in Kashmir resume after blast

Srinagar, March 08: Train services to Srinagar, have resumed on Tuesday morning after militants blew up a portion of a railway track near the city.

Train services were suspended after insurgents blew up a portion of a railway track near Nowgam railway station on Monday.

The blast is believed to be of low intensity and damaged few sleepers on which the railway track is laid.

Senior railway official had reached the spot and temporarily repaired it.

Senior Superintendent of Railway Police, Showkat Malik said: “It is a plan by the militants to disrupt the everyday activities of the people.”

An additional force had rushed to the spot and an investigation has been ordered.
