New Delhi, September 23: The engine and a bogie of the Kirandul-Vishakhapatnam passenger train derailed near Bhansi railway station in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district early Thursday .
Police is suspecting the involvement of Naxals behind the incident . The train derailed at around 0600 hours, 45 minutes after it left Kirandul railway station and was approaching Bhansi railway station, police officials told .
No casualties have been reported, they said. Additional police force and relief train rushed to the spot immediately after the derailment, they said, adding railway officials also reached the spot and repair work is on. Goods train movement on the route has been affected due to the incident, they said.
Security forces fear that the Naxal activity will increase by the end of the monsoon season, which had somewhat restricted the movement of ultras in the thickly forested areas. Official sources said in states like Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Orissa, where Naxals wield considerable fire power, movement of the security forces and the left-wing extremists had been restricted because of the monsoon.
