Hyderabad, July 01: A youngster died and his lover suffered injuries after they allegedly tried to end their lives by throwing themselves before a speeding vehicle near Shamirpet on Wednesday night. They took the extreme step while being chased by their parents, who were against their affair.
The duo, Naresh (18), a degree student and Anita Jyoti (14), a class IX student, were neighbours in Shivarampally.
On knowing about the affair, their parents objected to it as they belonged to different communities.
Following this, the duo left their respective houses on Sunday last and their parents lodged a missing case with the Rajendranagar police. Police found that the duo were near Pragyapur in Medak district.
On Wednesday night, a team of police and relatives of the duo started to Pragyapur. In the meantime, one of Naresh’s relatives convinced the lovers to return to the city and was bringing them to the city on his two-wheeler.
At Majidpura under Shamirpet PS limits, cops found the couple and asked them to stop. “Soon as the bike came to a halt, the duo rushed to middle of the road,” police said.
