Traffic regulation in city on sept 22 & 23

Hyderabad, September 21: The Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, Mr A. K. Khan, on Monday issued a notification for the information of the general public that in order to relieve congestion, to maintain smooth flow of traffic and to ensure public safety and order in connection with the Ganesh Immersion Procession on September 22 and 23, the movement of lorries carrying Ganesh idols and empty lorries after the immersion is regulated as follows:

Lorries carrying Ganesh idols for Immersion coming from M.J.Market, Abids and Basheerbagh side will proceed to Liberty. At MCH ‘Y’ Junction, the Lorries carrying Idols of excessive height will be segregated and sent to BRK Bhavan, Anmol Hotel to take a ‘U’ turn in front of the Old Secretariat Gate and then proceed to the NTR Marg. Other lorries will proceed to the Ambedkar Statue and then turn to the Upper Tankbund.

Lorries carrying Ganesh idols for immersion, coming from Punjagutta and Mehdipatnam side will proceed via Nirankari Jn – Saifabad – Iqbal Minar – Secretariat – Telugu Talli and Budha Purnima on the NTR Marg for immersion.

Lorries carrying Ganesh idols for immersion coming from Secunderabad side shall take a right turn at Ranigunj, proceed on Minister’s Road to the immersion point opposite KIMS Hospital ( old Deccan Continental Hotel). Those who want to use the Upper Tankbund or the Budhapurnima as immersion point should take a left turn at the Sailing Club and go towards Kavadiguda – Musheerabad – RTC x Roads – Narayanaguda flyover – Himayatnagar Y Junction – Liberty and reach the Tankbund.

Lorries carrying Ganesh idols coming from Musheerabad side and Hindi Mahavidyalaya will proceed towards RTC x Roads and from there via Chikkadapally – Narayanaguda – right turn to Himayatnagar Y Jn – Liberty – towards Ambedkar Statue – to go to either Budha Purnima or to Upper Tankbund.

The slow moving vehicles such as auto trollies, power tillers, push carts and so on carrying Ganesh idols are prohibited from joining the main immersion procession to preclude obstruction and congestion.

Lorries carrying Ganesh idols coming from Ranga Reddy district to Tankbund also shall take the above mentioned routes only, he added.

EXIT ROUTES FOR EMPTY LORRIES

The Police Commissioner has stated that after immersion of Ganesh idols in the lake at the Buddha Poornima, the empty lorries should proceed to their destination via Khairatabad Fly-over, Vishweshwariah Statue, KCP and Hotel Taj Krishna and will not be allowed to return towards the Telugu Talli Statue or to ply via the Mint Compound Road. Similarly, after immersion of Ganesh idols on the Upper Tankbund, empty lorries should proceed towards Children’s Park near Vivekananda statue on the Tankbund where they will take a right turn and go on the Kavadiguda Road and further proceed towards Musheerabad.

After immersion of Ganesh idols at the immersion point in front of KIMS Hospital (Old Deccan Continental Hotel) on the Minister’s Road, the empty lorries should proceed towards Rasoolpura and Begumpet. For the purpose of immersion, the vehicular movement will be unidirectional from the Ambedkar Statue towards the Boats Club only on the Upper Tankbund. No vehicle, whether carrying Ganesh idols or empty, will be permitted to go against this flow, adds the Commissioner of Police.

In another notification, the Commissioner of Police, imposed the following restrictions on Inter-State and inter- district RTC Buses.

The RTC Buses coming from districts through Rajiv Rahadari and from Nagpur on the National Highway No.7 to Hyderabad after passing Jubilee Bus Station will go to Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) Gowliguda via YMCA, Sangeet, Rail Nilayam, Mettuguda,Tarnaka, Jamia Osmania Flyover / Adikmet, Kachiguda Traffic PS and Rangmahal X Road. The Buses going towards Rajiv Rahadari and National Highway No.7 (towards Nagpur) from MGBS also will take the above route. Movement of buses between MGBS (Gowliguda) and Jubilee Bus Stand (JBS), Secunderabad will not be allowed after 12 noon till 22 hours on September 22.

The buses coming through National Highway No.7 from Bangalore to MGBS (Gowliguda) will take the route via Aramghar x Road, Chandrayanagutta X roads, IS.Sadan, Nalgonda X Roads, Chaderghat, Rangmahal X Roads to reach MG Bus Station, Gowliguda between 9.00 a.m. and 12.00 Noon. The Buses going on Notational Highway No.7 towards Bangalore from MGBS also will take the above route. The above route will be closed at 12.00 Noon. Buses coming after 12.00 Noon will be diverted from Aramghar via: NPA and Miralam Tank upto Nehru Zoological Park. Movement of RTC buses between MGBS and Aramghar X Roads will resume after 2200 hours.

The buses coming through National Highway No.9 from Vijaywada towards MGBS, will take diversion at Moosarambagh from 1200 hours and reach MGBS via Road No.6 Amberpet, Kachiguda Tr.PS and Rangmahal. The Buses going to Vijayawada from MGBS also will take the above route after 2200 hours. The vehicles way from Vijaywada will terminate at Dilsukhnagar Depot after 1200 hours.

The Buses coming through National Highway-9 from Mumbai / Sangareddy / Patancheru towards MGBS will be diverted at Godrej “Y” junction at Kukatpally, Narsapur X Roads, Bowenpally to Jubilee Bus Station (Secunderabad) and further onwards MGBS via YMCA, Sangeet, Rail Nilayam, Mettuguda, Tarnaka, Jamia Osmania Flyover / Adikmet, Kachiguda Tr.PS. Rangmahal X Roads and Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (Gowliguda). The movement between MGBS and JBS, Secunderabad will not be allowed after 12 noon till 22 hours. Buses from Patancheru side will terminate at JBS between 12 noon and 22 hours.

The Commissioner of Police has asked the APSRTC authorities to take note of the above diversions and implement them accordingly.
