Traffic police earns Rs. 1 crore every month through challans

Hyderabad: Hyderabad City Traffic Police has become a source of generating income for the State Govt. Treasury. It is reported that it earns Rs. 1 crore every month through traffic challans. According to a report traffic police had collected on an average Rs. 1 crore every month during 2015. Traffic Police is not concentrating on Traffic jams and the difficulties faced by the public.

It was revealed in a report that from the point of view of income, the year 2015 was a good year to collect money. In Hyderabad City alone, 1,88,500 vehicles were registered which includes 26900 four wheelers and 1,39000 two wheelers. By the end of September, 1,62,000 vehicles were registered. In the year 2013, traffic police earned Rs. 6 crore, in the year, 2014 more than 5 crore and in 2015, more than Rs. 20 crore were collected in the form of Traffic Police Challan.
