Meerut, May 31: A trader along with his family was brutally murdered by some unidentified persons at his residence in the Begum Bagh area here, police said today.
55-year-old liquor trader Narendra Kumar was found murdered along with his wife Sangeeta (48) and two sons aged 14 and 12 at his apartment yesterday, they said.
The incident came to light when some children of the area went to call Kumar’s sons to play cricket. On finding the door locked, they peeped inside and saw blood everywhere. The neighbours soon called the police.
Police suspect involvement of more than one person in the crime.
The bodies bore injury marks similar to the ones caused by sharp-edged weapons, I G Police (Meerut Zone), Chandraprakash said, adding an investigation has been launched in the incident.
