New Delhi, August 16: A trader was assaulted by four unidentified youths in west Delhi this morning with police suspecting it to be a case of attempted robbery.
The incident took place in Nihal Vihar area at around nine am when he was going to his mobile shop from his residence, a senior police official said.
The victim was going to the market when the youths hit his head from behind, rendering him unconscious, the official said.
A passerby spotted him and informed police. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
Angry over the incident, locals today blocked traffic on the outer ring road and burnt tyres demanding immediate arrest of the culprits.
