Trade licenses to fetch GHMC Rs 21 Crore

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is aiming to collect Rs 21 crore from 35,000 provisional DNO trade licenses.

GHMC Commissioner MT Krishna Babu held a review meeting of DNO Trade licenses, Advertisement, Tax and revenues from Estate Department here on Thursday. He said that Medical Officers and Deputy Commissioners must take more personal attention for issuing of provisional DNO Trade Licenses as there is a lot of scope in that area. The Commissioner said that GHMC has given access to the business establishments to apply for trade license through MEE SEVA and CSC Centres and it has been observed that piles of applications are pending for disposal. The concerned AMOHs would not clear the pending applications within a week’s time, the Commissioner warned them that penalties would be deducted from their salaries.

The Commissioner has directed the Additional Commissioner (Health and Sanitation) to transfer and to handover the responsibility of payment of salaries of drivers allotted to Zonal Commissioners of the drivers of lights and heavy vehicles.

Krishna Babu directed the Zonal Commissioners to call for the short tenders in order to select an agency to collect glow sign for GHMC on payment of a specified amount for each transaction as being done in HMWS&SB and APCPDCL. He further directed the Zonal Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to seize the shops who are not paying rents in markets and shopping complexes and to add service tax to the rent payable as GHMC is liable to pay the service tax to the Government even though beneficiaries doesn’t pay.
