TPF urges singareni workers to vote for IT

The Telangana Praja Front (TPF) has called upon the Singareni collieries Workers to elect the Trade Union which will fight for the workers’, separate Telangana State, and which opposes Globalization, Mechanization, privatization in the elections to be held for recognized Trade Union, on June 28 in Singareni Collieries.

Speaking to the media here on Monday, the TPF leaders Veda Kumar, Nalamasa Krishna, Chikkudu Prabhakar, Sana Ulla Khan and Jagan have alleged that the Singareni Company was turning Telangana as a burial ground, changing the Singareni mines as opencast-mines, by adopting the Globalization policies for the last 20 years. The ground water level in the four Telangana districts-Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam, where the opencast coal mining has been taking place, have been reduced.

Due to opencast mining, the number of workers had been reduced to 67,000 as against 1, 25,000, they alleged. The Singareni management was trying to obstruct the Unions which have been opposing the policies of the management, from contesting the elections. Some other Unions, which colluded with the management, were also trying to obstruct the efforts of the Unions which were fighting for the sake of workers rights.

The TPF has called upon the workers to teach a lesson to the Unions which were supporting the management, by casting vote against them. The TPF also made it clear that it will extend its support to the Unions which would fight for the sake of workers. The TPF also called upon the workers to get ready for the future movements against the management. (NSS)
