Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee has requested the State Election Commission to immediately conduct the Municipal, Zilla Parishad and Mandal elections in the State.
In a representation to the Chief Election commissioner today, B Kamalakara Rao, official spokesperson, A Syam Mohan, chairman, intellectuals cell and P Narasimha Reddy, vice-President, recalled the assurance given by the Commission earlier that the Municipal, Zilla Parishad and Mandal elections would be held soon after the swearing-in of the elected representatives to the Parliament and the State Assembly.
They requested the Commission to announce the election notification immediately, in order to empower local governance for the benefit of common people. (NSS)
