Nearly 200 workers belonging to the ST Cell of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee held protest at the office of Telangana State Public Service Commission office at Nampally here on Thursday.
The workers, led by ST Cell Chairman Jagan Naik, demanded that the TRS Government fulfill its promise of providing 12% reservation to Scheduled Tribes. Naik alleged that KCR has been trying to dilute his promise and using some leaders he is trying to convey that only 9% reservation was possible for STs. He said that the Tribals have voted in favour of TRS in last elections with the hope that they would get 12% reservation in jobs and education. However, he said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has cheated the STs by not implementing the promise. (INN)
