The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee on Wednesday demanded that the State Government announce a special package for the drought-hit farmers of Telangana State.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here, TPCC Chief Spokesperson D. Shravan Kumar said that the State Government should immediately declared 332 mandals as drought hit and extend necessary assistance to the affected farmers. He said that the farmers were living in deplorable conditions both due to adverse weather conditions and indifferent attitude of State Government. He said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was making tall claims and not taking any practical steps to help the farmers.
Shravan Kumar said that the State Cabinet meeting was held on Wednesday almost after three months. He asked the TRS Government to start implementing the promises that it made with the people. (INN)
