TPCC rejects Etala’s budget

Telangana Congress Working President and MLA Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Telangana’s first budget presented by Finance Minister Etala Rajender on Wednesday was completely disappointing and therefore, his party rejects it.

Speaking to media reporters at Assembly Media Point here, Uttam Kumar said that the budget speech lacked clarity on how the State Government proposes to raise funds to implement the welfare and developmental schemes. He said that the government has either reduced budget allocations for some sectors or completely skipped mentioning the allocated amount. For instance, he said the allocation for housing schemes has been reduced considerably.

Uttam Kumar also criticised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for leading the rebel MLAs of opposition parties on par with his party MLAs. The rebel MLAs too entered the House wearing pink ‘khandwas’. He said all of them are liable for disqualification as per the Anti-Defection Law. However, by making them seated on Treasury Benches, KCR has sent a wrong message among the people, he said. (INN)
