The controversy over the naming of Hyderabad domestic terminal of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad after former Chief Minister late N T Ramarao might get deeper with the Telangana Congress leaders planning to lay seize to the airport.
The decision was taken during a meeting held at Gandhi Bhavan here on Monday. Although the meeting, chaired by TPCC President Ponnala Lakshmaiah, was held to discuss the ongoing membership drive, senior leaders including V Hanumantha Rao, Mohammed Ali Shabbir, D Nagender and Anjan Kumar Yadav proposed that the Telangana Congress should organise massive protest against the naming of airport after NTR. After holding a series of protests, the Telangana Congress would finally lay seize to the airport till the Centre takes back its decision to rename the airport.
Earlier, while addressing the party workers, Ponnala asked them to intensify the membership drive and visit each and every household for enrolment. (INN)
