TPCC panel serves notice on Gajjela Kantham for slamming Uttam for party rout

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Disciplinary Committee here on Friday issued a show-cause notice to party spokesperson Gajjela Kantham for making improper comments on TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy and demanded him to give an explanation by Saturday evening.

After the Congress suffered a severe blow in the December 7 Assembly elections, TPCC spokesperson Gajjela Kantham lambasted State party chief Uttam Kumar Reddy holding him totally responsible for the party’s humiliating defeat at the hands of the ruling party. He also charged Uttam with destroying the great party due to his selfish politics.

Reminding Uttam Kumar Reddy of his pledge to resign from his party post if the Congress failed to sweep the elections and form government, Gajjela Kantham questioned the former whether he would shed the party president post. Demanding that Uttam honorably quit the post and pave a way for either a BC leader or an SC leader, Gajjela accused PCC chief of becoming a covert in order to escape from the Housing Scheme scam. He also alleged that the PCC president had willfully misled the party high command in the matter party alliances on the eve of the elections.
