TPCC dubs G.O. No.123 on land as bogus

Alleging that the Telangana State government’s G.O. No.123 on land acquisition was a bogus one, Congress SC Cell national president Koppula Raju has alleged that the farmers would not be benefited by the G.O. at all.

 

The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) organized an awareness program at Gandhi Bhavan here on Thursday on UPA government’s Land Acquisition Act of 2013. TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Leader of the Opposition in the Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir and others participated in the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Koppula Raju said the Land Acquisition Act of 2013 was a sop for the farmers given by AICC president Sonia Gandhi. He called upon the Congress leaders and cadre to wage a war demanding that the Centre implement that Act immediately.

Former Minister DK Aruna has alleged that the State government acquired the lands forcibly from the farmers through brokers for the construction of Palamuru Lift Irrigation Project. She claimed that tenders were being prepared in the Chief Minister’s Office and the TRS leaders were looting the public money in the name of projects redesign. She also alleged that the government was awarding tenders to the contractors it liked and alleged that the government was looting the poor farmers in the name of land acquisition.

Another former minister G Chinna Reddy alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was suffering from mental disorder. He asked KCR to explain how it would be possible for any one to destabilize his government when it has absolute majority in the Assembly. He faulted the Chief Minister for saying he was encouraging defections to stabilize his government. (NSS)
