TPCC demands All Party meeting on new districts

TPCC Vice-President Dr. Mallu Ravi on Monday demanded that the State Government convene an All Party meeting to discuss the proposal for formation of new districts in Telangana.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here, Mallu Ravi alleged that Chief Minister has raised the issue of new districts only to divert people’s attention from the failures of TRS Government. He said that the State Government did not clarify on the basis on which new districts would be formed. He said that the Congress party was not against the formation of new districts. However, he said it should be done with total consensus by incorporating all suggestions.

Mallu Ravi also criticised the Chief Minister’s meeting with District Collectors on new districts. He said instead of holding discussions on drought relief and shortage of drinking water, KCR was pursuing an agenda for political gains.(INN)
