Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) spokesperson G. Niranjan has demanded that the Telangana Government officially celebrate the Hyderabad Liberation Day on September 17.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday, Nirajan reminded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao staged a day-long dharna demanding official celebration of Hyderabad Liberation Day when K. Rosaiah was the Chief Minister in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh. However, he changed his stand after coming to power. He alleged that KCR was not organising official celebrations only to appease his ally Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen.
Accusing KCR of trying to suppress the historical facts, Niranjan alleged that the Chief Minister was encouraging the heirs of Qasim Razvi, who led the Razakar movement. (INN)
