Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has demanded that the State Election Commission initiate immediate action against the ruling TRS party for distributing money to voters.
TPCC official spokesperson G Niranjan lodged a complaint with the State Election Commissioner V Nagi Reddy in this regard on Monday. Niranjan, in his letter, alleged that the ruling TRS has deployed special teams to distribute money to the voters in various municipal wards of the GHMC jurisdiction in view of the February 2 polling. He also alleged that liquor contractor of Chikkadpalli area Balraj Goud distributed money in Boudha Nagar division. Similarly, husband of TRS candidate of Tarnaka division A Hari Prasad has himself distributed money to the voters in the division. He urged the Election Commission to direct the officials concerned to nab the culprits and take stern action. (NSS)
