TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy has slammed the State government alleging that Rs.1000 crore was wasted with the sub-critical technology works in Bhadradri Power Plant.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday along with TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, TPCC treasurer G Narayana Reddy, general secretary Niranjan, SC Cell chairman A Mohan, Uttam said that the government has taken up works of 270 MW worth with the sub-critical technology resulting in huge losses. He said that the government arrogantly taken up the works leading to Rs.1000 crore loss. He said the Central Environmental department denied permission to the Bhadradri Power Plant, which was being constructed with the 1080 MW Power generation.
Uttam alleged that he didn’t understand as to why the State government allowed the works of Bhadradri Power Plant with the sub-critical technology whereas there was super critical technology was available in the market. Showing the same reason, the Central Environment Department’s Green Tribunal denied the permission to the power plant. He said that the pollution was less with the super critical technology and the plant would work for more years and the investment too very less. But the government has taken up works with the BHEL, which has sub-critical technology, he said and alleged that there were some selfish motives behind this decision. He said that the issue will be raised in the winter assembly session along with CLP leader K Jana Reddy.
Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy would raise the issue in Legislative Council, he informed. The Chief Minister and Power Minister have taken up the works with sub-critical technology though the Congress party raised these doubts, he remembered. By the time the government allotted Rs.980crores for the construction works and Rs.69 crores for land acquisition and acquired 391 acres land, he said. He alleged that the government acquired Perantalapally tank, which provides water for three crops, for the sake of power plant to fill with ash comes from power plant. Alleging that the government took maladroit decision in regard to power plant, Uttam said that the centre denied permission to the plant and Rs.1000crore will be wasted if the state government cancelled this project. “The maintenance expenditure would be more than the outcome if the government completed the power plant project”, he said. On the other side, the Central Petroleum Minister announced that the state have not to take up power plants anymore, he said and asked the state government to tell as to how it will construct power plants in the state. The state government was wasting thousands of crores of money with the lack of understanding, he alleged. He questioned the state government to tell as to why the state, which second to the Gujarat state, financial crisis now. Recalling the statement of the Chief Minister that it was not possible to give full salaries to the employees with the demonetisation of notes, Uttam asked the state government to tell as to what was meaning of it.Bhatti and Ponguleti also spoke on the occasion.TJF leaders Pittala Srisailam and A Ramana coordinated the round table discussion.
