Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Wednesday convened a meeting with the leaders of Greater Hyderabad Congress and Ranga Reddy DCC to end the differences among them.
GHCC President Danam Nagender, Ranga Reddy DCC Mallesh Goud, TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and other leaders participated in the meeting held at Uttam Kumar Reddy’s residence in Banjara Hills. According to sources, the TPCC Chief directed Nagender and Mallesh Goud to end the differences among them in the interest of party. He expressed displeasure over the incident at Uppal where Danam and Mallesh Goud’s supporters clashed with each other.
Uttam Kumar Reddy reportedly told Danam and Mallesh Goud that it would be impossible for the party to give a better performance in the forthcoming GHMC elections with leaders indulging in groupism. He said differences among Congress leaders would only benefit the TRS and other rivals.
According to sources, both Danam and Mallesh have agreed to end the differences and assured to work as a team in the next GHMC elections.
Meanwhile, addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan later, Uttam Kumar Reddy welcomed the outcome of MLC elections and said that by winning two seats, the Congress party was able to maintain its position of main opposition in the State. He accused the TRS of indulging in cheap politics. He said that the TRS has fielded its candidates without having required numbers. However, the ruling party won the elections by luring or intimidating the candidates and voters of opposition parties. (INN)
