Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy has accused the TRS Government of indulging in large scale irregularities in the execution of Water Grid project.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his son and Panchayat Raj Minister K Tarakarama Rao have been giving contradictory statements on the project. While the Chief Minister has claimed no tender has been called in the Rs 45,000 crore Water Grid project, KTR has been claiming that tenders worth Rs 1700 crore have already been finalised. The contradiction in the statements of KCR and KTR clearly indicates towards a major scam in the Water Grid project.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the TRS Government neither disclosed the project report, nor it clarified as to how it proposes to mobilise Rs. 45,000 crore for the project.
The TPCC chief said that the TRS Government has completely failed to fulfill the promises that it made in its election manifesto. However, in order to divert people’s attention from the election promises, KCR launched Water Grid and Mission Kakatiya projects. He said accused the Chief Minister of cheating the people with fake promises. He also warned KCR against targeting the Congress party and its leaders in his statements. (INN)
