TP-JAC threatens to intensify statehood agitation

Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Sunday warned of intensifying the statehood agitation if the Congress and TDP fail to clarify their stand on Telangana.

Talking to media persons on the occasion of arrival of Telangana Bus Yatra at Basra, Prof Kodandaram alleged that hundreds of students committed suicide due to the non-responsive attitude of Congress and TDP. He said both the parties have deliberately maintained silence over the Telangana issue with an intention to delay the decision by the Centre. He alleged that the irresponsible behaviour of the both the parties was responsible for suicides in the region.

Prof Kodandaram demanded that the Congress and TDP clarify their stand on the statehood issue to prevent suicide by youth in the region.

It may be mentioned that the TP-JAC started a bus yatra on April 11 from Hyderabad to create awareness regarding prevention of suicide by students and youth for the cause of statehood. The bus yatra was also aimed at mounting pressure on the Congress and TDP to make their position clear on the statehood issue.

The bus yatra is scheduled to cover 10 districts of Telangana region and will conclude on April 22.
