Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Sunday said that the JAC would soon hold a meeting to take decision on some important issues including the next by-elections.
Talking to reporters here, Prof Kodandaram said that the JAC, in its next meeting, would soon take a decision on whom to support in the by-elections to be held for Parakala seats of Warangal district. It may be mentioned that Parakala seat fell vacant due to the disqualification of Congress MLA Konda Surekha who has now joined YSR Congress party.
Further, the JAC would discuss and finalise the strategy to be adopted to intensify the statehood agitation. He said the JAC meeting would primarily focus on finding ways to mount pressure on the Congress and Telugu Desam Party to make them clarify their stand on the demand for statehood for Telangana region.
The JAC chairman claimed that the recent bus yatra taken up by the JAC in Telangana districts against the suicides by students and youth was successful. He said a similar yatra would be taken up in Hyderabad to create awareness among the students and youth against resorting to extreme steps for the cause of statehood.
