Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Tuesday called upon all elected representatives from the region to mount pressure on the Centre to achieving Telangana State formation before the Presidential elections.
Talking to media persons after emerging out of JAC’s meeting, Kodandaram said that he would write a letter to leaders of all political parties in this connection soon. “This is the appropriate time to demand the Telangana State before the elections to President’s post,” he said. If the Telangana leaders stand on their demand, he said that the Centre would bow down and take a favourable decision in this regard.
Suspecting the commitment of Telangana Ministers towards Telangana formation, he alleged that the Ministers were not ready to quit their posts for the cause of statehood.
Irked over the increase in medical seats in Seemandhra region, he asked as to why the ministers did not respond on the issue when the Telangana region suffered a major injustice. “This exposes their commitment towards the Telangana region,” he said.
