Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Wednesday condemned the remarks of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy attributing suicides of students in the Telangana region to love failure, scoring of low marks and financial problems.
Talking to media persons, Kodandaram demanded that the government could take up a discussion on the suicides in the House to get clear facts and what forced them to end their lives. He said that students were forced to end their lives due to negative comments from leaders and political parties not showing their will power in finding a solution to Telangana statehood issue.
Despite 850 students ending their lives, there is no response from the Centre and State governments to resolve the issue, he said. Holding the Telangana MLAs and Ministers responsible for suicides, Kodandaram said that the JAC would intensify its agitation targeting ruling Congress and opposition TDP. (INN)
