TP-JAC asks for details of Chidambaram-Naidu meeting

Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Thursday demanded that Union Home Minister P Chidambaram explain the details of what transpired between him and Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu which obstructed the formation of separate Telangana State.

Talking to media persons at the JAC office, Kodandaram said that Chidambaram’s statement in the Lok Sabha that Naidu met him proves that he was the prime ‘accused’ for blocking the Telangana state formation. “Naidu is proved prime accused in the people’s court for obstructing the formation of Telangana state,” he stated.

Kodandaram demanded that the Telugu Desam Telangana Forum members grill Naidu on the statehood demand and mount pressure on him to make his stand clear on the bifurcation of the State.

Demanding Congress MPs from the region to mount pressure on the High Command towards taking favourable decision on Telangana, he said that the leaders have to set a clear deadline for the Congress to announce its stand on the issue.

He reiterated that the JAC has no differences with its allies over the supporting of candidate in the by-election of Parakala assembly constituency. (INN)
