Japnese car-maker Toyota will recall over three lakh vehicles in China over exploding airbags from June 12, the country’s quality supervisor said today.
The affected models include Vios and Corrola EX, manufactured between Jan 1, 2004 and March 31, 2007, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, said, adding nearly 3,02,705 vehicles will be recalled. The passenger seat airbags may explode and send shrapnel flying at drivers and passengers, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
The automaker will repair the faulty components free of charge.
