Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials have arrested a government official on the charges of bribe.
In a release, the ACB here said today Nampally Rajendra Prasad (54), Town Planning Supervisor, Municipal Office, Khammam was caught red-handed by the ACB officials late last night at his office when he demanded and accepted Rs 8,000 as bribe from the complainant for issue permission for house construction.
The tainted bribe amount of Rs 8,000 was recovered from the office table drawer of Ms Sakkubai, Attender which was adjacent to the table of Mr Rajendra Prasad at his instance. Chemical test conducted on the right hand fingers of Rajendra Prasad and the contact portion of the paper on which the tainted currency was kept yielded positive result. Mr Rajendra Prasad was arrested and produced before the IInd Additional Special Judge for ACB Cases, Hyderabad, the release added. UNI
