Town planning assistant, civic officer in ACB net

Hyderabad, April 08: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs 50 lakh, allegedly belonging to a town planning assistant at Rajamundry in East Godavari district.

ACB officers conducted simultaneous searches at the residence of K Venkat Rao and that of his relatives. Searches revealed that Rao had amassed disproportionate assets worth over Rs 50 lakh, an ACB statement here said.

Meanwhile, in Mahabubnagar district, Md Sajjad Ali, chief officer of Wanaparthy municipality, was caught red-handed by ACB when he allegedly accepted a bribe of Rs 35,000 from the complainant for doing an official favour, the statement said.
