The South Zone Conference -2012 of the Institute of Town Planners, India, will be held at Jubilee Hall on Saturday.
The conference with the theme “Sustainable Solutions to Tackle Congestion for Better Livable City” will be inaugurated by Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar while Municipal Administration Minister M Maheedhar Reddy would preside over the function. Addressing a press conference here on Friday, State Town Planning director K Purshottam Reddy and ITPI vice-president Anian Mathews said that the sub-theme of the conference would be “Public Transport in Urban Areas with Focus on Metrorail Project”. They said that the city’s Metro Rail project would be discussed in detail by the experts from across the country.
They also informed that soon a Town Planning Institute would soon be started in Visakhapatnam. (INN)
