Jaipur, March 18: The traditional ‘Gangaur’ procession was today taken out here with thousands of people, including foreigners, watching from the rooftops as it made its way through the walled city and ended at Paundrik Garden.
The procession, which began in the evening, saw decked up elephants march along side camels, bullock carts, folk artists and band musicians.
Beginning from the City Palace, it converged at Paundrik garden near Chougan stadium after passing through the walled city markets — Tripolia Bazar, Choti Chaupad and Gangauri Bazar.
Special arrangements were made for foreigners on the roof top of a hotel near Tripolia Gate.
“Thousands of tourists, including around 500 foreigners today witnessed the Gangaur procession which was attended by locals and people from nearby villages,” Rajasthan Tourism Assistant Director Sanjay Johri said.
